Rectory is open Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm; closed 12-1 for lunch
and on weekends and holidays.  Call the Office for Holy Day hours.

 

Chapel: Weekday Masses are held in the All Saints' Chapel

                  Located inside the Rectory at 146 Rector Street

                  Masses:  Monday - Friday 7:00 AM & open for private prayer until 4:00 PM

                  Fridays:  Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament until 4:00 PM.

                 

Church: Saturday Vigil Mass- 4:00 PM with Confessions from 3-3:40 PM;

                  Sunday Morning 9:00 & 11:00 AM; Sunday Evening 6:00 PM 

 

                  Mass & Novena at St. Josaphat's each first Saturday of the Month
                   at 8:30 AM preceded by confession from 8:00-8:30 AM.

 

Lottery:

 

(Postponed until further notice).  Lottery Hotline is 215.482.8728 and updated 10am on Fridays.  Lottery Drawing is held on Thursdays, weather permitting.  Tickets may be dropped off at the Rectory until 3:30 pm on Thursdays. Sacramental Archives

 

Requests for  Certificates for Sacramental Purposes Only from the Churches of St. John the Baptist, St. Josaphat, St. Mary of the Assumption, and St. Ladislaus, may be e-mailed to secretary@stjohnmanayunk.org, and must be picked up at the parish office.  Please allow adequate time for processing.  Please contact your local municipality for birth certificates or other legal documentation.  We are unable to fulfill ancestry research and requests. Please include your baptismal name, reason for the request, full address and phone number, the name of the Parish and date the Sacrament was received.  Requests are fulfilled in the order they are received and you will be called when ready for pickup.

 

Cemeteries

St. John the Baptist and St. Mary of the Assumption Cemeteries may be visited Monday - Friday 9AM - 4PM.  Due to vandalism the cemeteries are locked and may be visited only by appointment.  Call the parish office at 215-482-4600 to arrange for a visit.

 

Spiritual Offerings

Remember your loved ones with a Spiritual Gift.  Offerings for Masses, the Sanctuary Candle, Bread and Wine, and Memorial Fund Offerings may be made at the Rectory during regular office hours. 

 

You may also make online Memorial Donations to the St. John the Baptist Memorial Fund, and the Friends of St. John the Baptist Memorial Fund, specific to the restoration and maintenance of St. John the Baptist Church.

 

Sunday Bulletin

Our Sunday Bulletin features Sacramental Information, parish updates, social, and spiritual events, school and Archdiocesan announcements.  Bulletin requests for articles may be submitted in proofread, brief paragraph form (75 words or less including a Title) to sjbphila@stjohnmanayunk.org, re:  Bulletin Submission.  Deadline is Friday at 5 pm for the following week’s Sunday bulletin.  For personal advertisements, please call the printer listed below for advertising space.

PARISH MISSION STATEMENT

Saint John the Baptist is a multiethnic Roman Catholic Parish rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ.  Founded in 1831, the Parish has a rich history of providing spirituality, education, and worship in the Manayunk, Roxborough, and Wissahickon neighborhoods of Philadelphia.  As a Christian community we are united in our mission to share the Gospel, the Sacraments, and love and serve God by caring for one another.  We welcome all people to become part of our vibrant and growing community.  (Ratified January 31, 2016 by Parish Assembly)
